The following imaging modalities are available:

General X-ray

CT: A computerized tomography (CT) scan combines a series of x-ray images taken from different angles around the body and uses computer processing to create cross-sectional images (slices) of the bones, blood vessels, and soft tissues inside your body. In 2023 we purchased a new Philips Incisive 128 slice CT machine that offers state-of-the-art imaging to assist in diagnosing medical concerns.

Ultrasound: An ultrasound is an imaging test that uses sound waves to create a picture of organs, tissues and other structures inside the body. An ultrasound can also show parts of the body in motion, such as a heart beating or blood flowing through blood vessels.

Bone Densitometry: A test like an x-ray that quickly and accurately measures the density of bone. It is used primarily to detect osteopenia or osteoporosis, diseases in which the bone's mineral and density are low and the risk of fractures in increased.

The Radiologists from Radiology Associates of Abilene view all images, except Ultrasounds and provide reports to the referring physician so results can be communicated to you in a timely manner. Ultrasounds are interpreted by Garvish Radiology in Plainview, Texas.
